Unison

Unison is an organization that will amplify the voice of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies here at Delta College and will help to create education and awareness for the campus community.

Delta Safe Space

Safe Space is a nationally recognized program in public schools, colleges and universities. It provides an avenue through which all people can actively show their support of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning/queer (LGBTQ) people.

Safe Space representatives (also commonly referred to as “Allies”) are identified by displaying the Delta Safe Space logo in the workplace (on a door, a notebook, coffee mug, computer, etc.). By displaying the Delta Safe Space logo, they are visually representing that they are committed to providing a safe haven, a listening ear, and support for anyone dealing with issues related to sexual orientation or gender identity.

Delta Prism Alliance

Delta's Prism Alliance is a group of more than 50 faculty and staff members working toward improving conditions for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual and other gender non-conforming students and employees on campus.

This group's mission is to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues across campus through education and advocacy. Formed in 2006, the Prism Alliance is an important part of Delta's diverse community, directly contributing to Delta College's mission – “educating, enriching and empowering our diverse community of learners.”

We are committed to providing the level of privacy and safety sought by our transgender students, employees and visitors. Any member of the campus community or campus guest is welcome to use the all-gender, single-occupancy restrooms.

Great Lakes Bay Health Centers HIV Services
Great Lakes Bay Health Centers HIV Services offers prevention, treatment and counseling for HIV. This includes medical care, an onsite laboratory, medication, insurance, testing, transportation assistance and other supportive services. Their Hearth Home location in Saginaw provides HIV support groups, food/household pantry for HIV-positive persons, anonymous/confidential HIV testing, condoms, education other related information.

Great Lakes Bay Pride
A non-profit community organization whose mission is to provide inclusive sexual orientation and gender identity/expression (SOGIE) education, advocacy, networking, and resources to individuals and organizations in the Great Lakes Bay Region.

PFLAG Great Lakes Bay Region
PFLAG offers support groups and a different speaker every month for family and friends of lesbians and gays.

Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Center, Inc.
For over 25 years, Sacred Heart has been providing free, confidential HIV/AIDS services, including health care coordination, prescription and dental assistance, housing assistance, patient navigation, client support groups, care outreach, HIV prevention education and free HIV testing. Sacred Heart hosts the annual 5K Run Walk 4 Recovery & Wellness in late September to raise funds to support the AIDS Care program. 

Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Center's HIV/AIDS Care Program is offers free, confidential HIV prevention information and HIV testing for Delta College students. Testing is conducted using a mouth swab called OraSure which is 99% accurate. The testing process take approximately 15 minutes. Interested students can contact Tom Brubaker at Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Center at 989-776-6000 extension 7514 to make an appointment.

The Advocate
An American LGBT magazine, printed bi-monthly and available by subscription. The Advocate brand also includes a website. Both magazine and website have an editorial focus on news, politics, opinion, and arts and entertainment of interest to lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender (LGBT) people.

Network la Red
The Network/La Red’s 24-hour hotline provides confidential emotional support, information, referrals, safety planning, and crisis intervention for lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer and/or transgender (LGBTQ+) folks, as well as folks in kink and polyamorous communities who are being abused or have been abused by a partner.
